Halifax Trojan Aquatic Club Represents Team East at The 2014 East West Youth Dual Meet

James Cormier of the Halifax Trojan Aquatic Club was selected earlier this season to represent Team East at Swimming Canada’s East-West Youth Dual Meet along with Head Coach, Aaron Maszko.

Cormier set a new Nova Scotia Provincial Record in the men’s 400m Individual Medley with a time of 4:25.58 and a fourth place finish. James competed in a total of five individual events and qualified for Senior Nationals with a personal best time in the 1500m Freestyle.

The competition targeted Canada’s top youth and prospect age swimmers. The youth age for the boys was 16-17 and prospects 15 and under. For the girls was 15-16 and 14 and under. Swimmers earned points for their team for each individual race with points doubled for relays.

The 2014 East-West Youth Dual Meet took place July 29th and 30th in Winnipeg, MB at the Pan Am Pool.
