Swim NS Members,
It’s hard to believe that another swimming season is coming to an end! I’m sure many of you enjoyed watching the success of all of the Canadian athletes in Rio, in particular our Canadian swimmers! We look forward to hearing the great results from Jr. Pan Pacific Championships in Hawaii wrapping up this weekend, and the Paralympic Games in Rio, September 7-18th!
Throughout the 2015-16 swim-season, our organization has sanctioned two open water events; eight Summer Swimming meets, five Masters Meets, and 30+ Year-Round meets. In addition to these meets, many of you hosted in-house competitions. A big thanks goes to all of our committed officials for continuing to volunteer their time at all levels of competitions! Without their support, these events would not happen.
Over the last quadrennial, we have continued to increase our membership (administrators, athletes and officials). Our athletes have broken hundreds of Provincial Records, PARA National Records and one National Age Group Record! Overall, performances have improved at the Regional and National level. We have hosted several Provincial Tour Team initiatives and travelled to various camps/competitions as a Province.
Thank you to all of our Coaches and Presidents who continue to lead successful programs within your clubs and helping to raise the bar with swimming in Nova Scotia! On behalf of Swim Nova Scotia, I would like to take the time to thank all of you for your continued support to swimming in Nova Scotia.
There are lots of exciting opportunities and changes coming this season; we will be launching our new webpage with an exciting refreshed look in early September, the national official’s database will be fully launched in September, new Provincial Team initiatives and much more! We look forward to the next quadrennial and seeing the continued success of our athletes!
Just a reminder that the office will be closed August 29th and will re-open on September 6th and the SNC National Registration page is now closed for the season.
Enjoy the rest of your summer!
