Competition continues in Calgary during the second day of competition at the 2019 Canadian Junior Swimming Championships.
15-year-old Liam Ferguson from the Halifax Trojan Aquatic Club was Nova Scotia’s top swimmer of the day with a sixth-place finish in the 14-15 men’s 100m Backstroke with a time of 1:02.19.
Ava Vial from the Wolfville Tritons Swim Club finished 23rd in the 15-17 women’s 400m Individual Medley with a time of 5:19.24.
11 swimmers from across Nova Scotia are joined by nearly 550 swimmers from Canada; this meet is the highest national-level competition for swimmers 18 years of age and under.
Pool action continues daily through Sunday at Calgary’s Repsol Sports Centre, with competition starting at 9:00am local time for preliminaries and 5:30pm local time for finals. The open water events will take place Monday July 29th at Lake Chaparral.
