2020 David Fry NS Provincial Championships Meet Details

Swim Nova Scotia and the Halifax Trojan Aquatic Club will be co-hosting the 2020 David Fry NS Provincial Championships March 5-8th, 2020 at Dalplex Pool in Halifax.  We are excited to be welcoming 23 teams from all four Atlantic Provinces!!!

We are still in need of Officials and Timers for all sessions this weekend.  If you are interested, please email Kelley with your preferred position and availability. Assignment of Officials (as of March 5). Reminder for Officials, Thursday timed finals or any prelim session on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, white tops are required for all officials working. For all evening finals sessions on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, timers are asked to wear white tops where all other officials are asked to wear blue tops.  Black bottoms are requested for all sessions which can include pants, shorts and skirts.

Please note the following important details related to the meet:

-Thursday’s warm-up break is scheduled to begin at 6:00pm, it will be a maximum of 30-minutes and the relays will begin at exactly 6:30pm

-Thursday’s 800m Free M may be combined with the 1500m Free W. Sunday’s 800 Free W will be swum 2 per lane (seeded by time)

-Reminder that all 400/800/1500 Free will swim fastest to slowest, alternating gender

Parking passes are required to park in the Dalplex Parking lot on Friday morning.  Each Club will receive 1 parking pass for their Coach; this can be picked up from Bette in the computer room on Thursday afternoon (or Friday morning for those not attending Thursday’s session).  Volunteer timers/officials will receive them from Kelley.  Spectators can park at meters (and pay) or use pay and display anywhere on Dal campus

-Reminder that indoor footwear is required on deck throughout the meet

-Coaches & Officials are reminded to bring water bottles; refill stations will be available on deck

-Don’t forget Daylight Saving Time will begin at 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 8

Warm-Ups: Split Warm-Ups Friday, Saturday & Sunday during Prelims as follows:

  • 7:30-8:15am 13 & Under Boys and 14 & Under Girls
  • 8:15-9:00am 14 & Over Boys and 15 & Over Girls and PARA

o   There will be no split warm-ups on Thursday & during Finals; however, lanes 7 & 8 will be available for PARA and 12 & Under swimmers

o   Sprint, Pace & Backstroke start lanes will be open for the last 20 minutes of each scheduled warm-up period

Results: Unofficial live results will be available on meet mobile and online

–    Live Webcast will be available during finals (deep end only)

Silent Auction: HTAC will be organizing a Silent Auction on Sunday.  This will be located above the bleachers in the deep end of the pool.  Credit card payment will be available

Canteen: HTAC will be providing a healthy canteen.  This will be located above the bleachers in the deep end of the pool.  Please note that the canteen will be cash only

Jolyn Aquatic Apparel will be on site selling suits all day Saturday & Sunday until 4:00pm; they will be in the old lobby
