Sad News in the Swimming Community

It is with great sadness that I share the news of another loss in the swimming community.

Sheila Landry passed away on Monday April 9th.

Sheila was first and foremost a proud swim mom and dedicated volunteer to the Dartmouth Crusaders Swim Club and most recently Acadia Varsity Swim Team, enjoying her son, Owen’s swimming success along the way.

She was well known on the pool deck as a volunteer and Official at many Age Group Development meets. This past year, Sheila was an Official at every AUS swim meet in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

Sheila’s contagious laugh and friendly smile will be sadly missed by all of us.

Our thoughts are with her family, Peter and Owen, during this difficult time.

A service will be held on Saturday at St Paul’s Church on Windmill Road. Time will be confirmed in an obituary to be published in the Chronicle Herald on April 11.

Sheila (in the blue shirt) is pictured above receiving a bouquet at the 2017 NS Ken Dunn Provincial Championships, recognizing her contribution to DCSC and the NS swimming community, as this was her last Age Group meet.
