Isabel Sarty of the Halifax Trojan Aquatic Club was this year’s female recipient of the David Fry Memorial Bursary.
Isabel excelled in and out of the pool; she has worked hard and reached the highest level of achievement in her academic courses, while continuing to excel in the pool. She stood out in her classes where the academic demands were very high; she graduated from Citadel High School, with French Immersion, and Honours with Distinction.
In the pool, she is a Nova Scotia Provincial Record holder, currently holding three individual and eleven relay records. Isabel has been a medalist at National level meets, a member of Swimming Canada’s Junior Team Program and a member of Swim Nova Scotia’s High Performance Team for many years.
Isabel will be attending Dalhousie University in September where she will continue to further her academic and swimming endeavors.
