Top N.S. Junior Swimmers Off to a Great Start at the 2019 Canadian Junior Championships! Day One Recap

Approximately 550 young swimmers from across Canada began competing at Calgary’s Repsol Sports Centre today at the 2019 Canadian Junior Swimming Championships. This meet is the highest national-level competition for swimmers 18 years of age and under. Four teams from across Nova Scotia are represented by 11 swimmers.

Nova Scotia’s top swimmers today included Liam Ferguson and Will Myrer, both from the Halifax Trojan Aquatic Club. Liam finished 7th in the 14-15 men’s 200m Backstroke with a time of 2:15.74; teammate Will Myrer finished 16th in the 14-15 men’s 100m Butterfly with a time of 1:01.26.

Prelims begin at 9:00am and finals begin at 5:30pm local time daily. The pool competition will wrap-up on Sunday July 28th; Open Water events will take place Monday July 29th at Lake Chaparral.
