Nova Scotia’s top swimmers continued competing today at the 2019 Canadian Swimming Trials in Toronto, Ontario atToronto’s Pan Am Sports Centre.
Top results from today included Halifax Trojan Sarah Polley, who finished 20thwith a time of 30.04 in the women’s 50m Backstroke and Hayden Bartoch of the Halifax Wavecutters Aquatic Club who finished 33rd in the men’s 400m Individual Medley with a personal best time of 4:39.45.
This competition will serve as the nomination or selection Trials for the 2019 FINA World Championships, 2019 FINA World Junior Championships, 2019 Pan American Games, 2019 Para Pan American Games, 2019 World Para Swimming Championships, and 2019 FISU Games.
A total of 627 athletes (346 female, 281 male) are in action representing 157 clubs. That includes international competitors from 21 countries: Algeria, Cayman Islands, Colombia, Croatia, England, France, Germany, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Italy, Kenya, Latvia, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Peru, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Trinidad and Tobago, and the United States.
Prelims begin at 9:30am and finals begin at 6:00pm local time daily; competition wraps up on Sunday.
