Nova Scotia Swimmers Continue to Race at the 2017 RBC Canadian Junior Swimming Championships

 Halifax Trojan swimmers, Hanna Mountford and Madison Archer were Nova Scotia’s top swims during the second day of competition at the RBC Canadian Junior Swimming Championships. Mountford and Archer both swam in the consolation final of their respective events where Mountford finished twentieth in the women’s 100m Freestyle with a time of 1:01.28, and Archer finished nineteenth the 400m Individual Medley with a time of 5:10.01.

500 young swimmers from across Canada are competing at Toronto’s Pan Am Sports Centre. Five teams from across Nova Scotia are represented by 12 swimmers, who have all been named to Swim Nova Scotia’s 2017 Canada Games Swim Team.

Pool action continues daily through Sunday, with competition starting at 9:00am local time for preliminaries and 5:30pm local time for finals.  The open water events start at 9am July 31st; race distances include 2.5km and 5km.
