SAVE THE ACADIA UNIVERSITY POOL
Swim Nova Scotia Members,
We are reaching out to you with an immediate to action following the recent announcement that Acadia University will be closing its pool this summer due to financial constraints.
This closure will have a devastating impact not only on the local swimming community but also on swimmers across Nova Scotia who rely on this facility for training, competition, and recreational use.
The loss of the Wolfville Tritons Swim Club (WTSC), one of Nova Scotia’s top competitive swimming programs available to youth and the Acadia Varsity Swim Team, one of only two university swim teams in the province, will affect the entire sport of swimming in our province.
Your voices are making a difference! Over the past few weeks, we have seen incredible advocacy from our community, and we must continue to push for short-term solutions that will keep the Acadia pool open until a new facility is built to meet the needs of the community. We also continue to advocate for the reinstatement of the Acadia Varsity Swim Team, a crucial program that supports student-athletes and strengthens swimming in Nova Scotia.
The Provincial Government is Listening
We are pleased to share that the provincial government has been in direct contact with Swim Nova Scotia regarding the Acadia pool closure. They recognize the significance of this issue and the impact it has on both the local community and the broader swimming community across the province. The more we continue with our advocacy efforts directly to the province, the easier it will be for those in power to hear our message.
How You Can Help
We need your voice!
Please take a few minutes to send an email to local government officials and Acadia University leadership urging them to take immediate action to explore funding solutions and ensure continued access to an aquatic facility in Wolfville.
Please sign and share the ONLINE PETITION
Send a letter to government officials and leaders at Acadia University.
We encourage you to personalize them with any personal impacts, stories or connections you or your family may have to the Acadia Pool, Acadia University or the Wolfville Tritons Swim Club.

Swim Nova Scotia is actively advocating on behalf of the swimming community and has requested meetings with government officials. Your emails will provide valuable support in these discussions.
The time to act is NOW – together, we can make a difference in securing a future for swimming in Nova Scotia.
Thank you for your support and for taking the time to advocate for our sport.
