2024 David Fry East Coast Championships

Thank you all for joining us this weekend at the 2024 David Fry East Coast Championships in Halifax! 

Thanks to all the timers and officials who helped run a great meet this weekend- our Officials team was led by Kelley Polley.  Thank you, Kelley!  Thanks to the Halifax Trojans for co-hosting and providing great hospitality!!

Swim Nova Scotia is excited to host the upcoming David Fry Championships with the Halifax Trojans this weekend at Dalplex Pool and welcome swimmers from all four Atlantic Provinces!

Please see the important information below in preparation:

  • All teams must enter/exit Dalplex through the main doors and check-in with facility staff. Access to the main locker rooms will be available for all swimmers; coaches may enter/exit through the back stairwell

  • All spectators must remain in the designated spectator areas – the pool deck is reserved for swimmers entered in the meet, registered coaches and volunteers/officials working the designated session.  

  • Spectators must enter/exit Dalplex through the main doors (the emergency exit at the back will NOT be available)

  • Parking passes are required to park in the Dalplex Parking lot on Friday only.  Each Club will receive 1 parking pass for their Coach on Thursday.

  • Warm-Ups: 

    • There will be no split warm-ups; however lanes 7 & 8 will be designated for Para Swimmers, Special Olympic Swimmers and 12 & Under Swimmers for the first 30 minutes of each warm-up period

    • Sprint, Pace & Backstroke start lanes will be open for the last 20 minutes of each scheduled warm-up period

  • Session Reports as of February 27, 2024 - please add ~30 minutes to finals timelines for the B final; prelims may be adjusted if any of the distance events are being swum 2 per lane on Saturday & Sunday.

  • Psych Sheets as of February 27, 2024 v2

  • Positive Check-In: Will be required for the 400/800/1500m Freestyle events:

    • Thursday Distance due at 3:30pm

    • Saturday 400 due at on Friday at 7:00pm

    • Sunday Distance due on Saturday at 7:00pm

  • Distance Events: Reminder that the 400/800/1500 Free will swim fastest to slowest, alternating gender. These events are planned to swim as 1 per lane on Thursday, however meet management reserves the right to swim 2 per lane in the 400m & distance freestyle events on Saturday & Sunday.

  • Combined Events: Coaches will be notified if any individual or relay events will be combined

  • Medals will be presented throughout finals for 1-3rd place in each event on the diving platform following each race. Swimmers are reminded to wear a shirt for their presentation, if they can’t make it, please send another swimmer that can pick up their award on their behalf. These will be taking place during the competition.

  • Vendors: Jolyn Aquatic Apparel and Funkita Gear will be on site, they will be located on the upper level (old Dalplex reception area).

  • The third draft of the Assignment of Officials is now available (as of February 29 v2); we are still in need of timers for all sessions, please please email availability and preferred position to Kelley

  • Results: Unofficial live results will be available on meet mobile
